Late/Absence Procedures

At Our Lady and All Saints Catholic Primary School, we work hard to ensure our school day starts smoothly for all children. On a normal day, children are expected to be on the playground by 8.55am ready for the whistle blowing and lining up time. Registration closes at 9.05am. If your child arrives after this time they will be marked late in the register.

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, we are currently staggering the school drop off and pick up times. We would ask that parents stick to their allotted pick up and drop off times.

In order to reduce the number of adults dropping off and collecting children at any one time, we have allocated ten-minute time slots to parents of children in individual classes. Our plans ensure there is no change to the length of time your children spend in school. In the case of families with children in different classes, we ask that all siblings are dropped off together at the allocated time slot for the youngest child in the family, and that they are collected together at the allocated time slot for the eldest child in the family.

If your child misses the start of the day they can miss work and do not spend time with their class teacher getting vital information and news for the day. Late arriving pupils also disrupt lessons, which can be embarrassing for the child and can in turn, encourage absence. Being 10 minutes late every day throughout the academic year is the same as missing two weeks of school.

If your child is poorly and needs to be at home, please call the school office by 10am of that day or use the contact form below.
